Airports

The Dominican Republic has 8 international airports and several small airports for domestic flights.

Clicking on the list below you will have detailed information about the airport selected.

                                                                                                                                                (Image: Punta Cana International Airport)

Useful Information

At the airports you may be met by touts, offering a variety of services such as guided tours, money exchange or hire cars, but it is always sensible to decline their offers politely.

Usually visitors arrive at the Dominican Republic on pre-booked holiday packages and are met by a tour operator representative who pick them up at arrival and departure from hotel.

Anyway taxis are readily available at dominican airports. Taxis are unmetered and fares are fixed rates based on destination. Taxi fares to the most popular destinations are generally showed outside the Arrivals Terminal at every airport. In general taxi drivers are honest, but a minority will attempt to cheat tourists out of large sums. We suggest to negotiate the price with driver before the ride. Most of them accept dollar or euro currency.
