Description
Begin your day with a walk through dense rainforest, where vibrant orchids bloom among cacao and coffee plantations under the canopy of coconut trees. Along the path, local guides will share stories about traditional farming, native flora, and the community’s way of life.
After about two hours of trekking, arrive at Salto de La Jalda, a spectacular waterfall that drops more than 120 meters (over 400 feet). Here, the cool, clean waters of the Cordillera Septentrional flow into a natural pool where swimming is encouraged. Take your time to relax, soak in the beauty, and connect with nature.
Enjoy lunch nearby, featuring real local flavor: a homemade meal, fresh fruit wine (or alternatives like soft drinks or water), plus sweet and salty snacks for dessert.
Post-meal, the return journey takes you back to the community of La Loma, where you’ll get a chance to further engage with locals and enjoy traditional treats. Whether you opt to ride a horse part of the way or stay on foot, the experience offers immersive insight into local culture, stunning scenery, and the unspoiled tropical environment.
