Guavaberry Golf & Country Club
Dominicanrepublic
Located on the sunny southeast coast of the Dominican Republic, Guavaberry Golf and Country Club has been described at “challenging, daunting and awesome” and was created by the Gary Player Design team, with a focus on perfectly blending the needs of a first rate golf course with the existing natural tropical landscape.
This makes the golfer feel as if the course has always been a part of the beautiful surrounding landscape, bordered by a tropical forest and a nature preserve: the course is as spectacular as it is demanding.
Set in a tropical forest and under blue skies, this is a 7,156-yard par-72 course with a three-acre pond, five sets of tees. Some of the features include natural coral rock formations, incredible waste bunkers, lush fairways, occasional strong Caribbean breezes, and deep sand traps.
This is not an easy course, with the tricky hazards and the ever-present tropical breezes. Golfers are tempted to return again and again to the challenge of this incredible course. Golfers are pleasantly surprised on arriving at the 13th hole because of the beautiful cascading waterfall that spills into a quarry.
A large three-acre pond envelopes and protects the green at Hole 15. “Challenging, daunting and awesome”.
