Next, head to Monkeyland, a botanical garden sanctuary run by a caring Canadian couple with decades of experience working with animals. In the garden’s roughly 5 acres, graceful and friendly squirrel monkeys make their home. These monkeys are well used to human company: they’ll descend from the trees, sit on your shoulders, eat fruit from your hand, and pose for photos—pure joy and closeness with nature. Guided by experts fluent in English, Spanish, and French, explore the garden, learn about native plants and flowers, and engage in several photographic moments with the monkeys. The entire setting is calm and natural; the botanical garden enhances the experience by its greenery, shade, and sense of serenity. After Monkeyland, enjoy more views of the countryside and reminders of the local way of life on your journey back.
