Description

Start your adventure with a driver meeting you at the taxi area near the cruise terminal exit, then transfer to the office in Bayahibe where the tour begins. From there, board a boat for a family-friendly trip exploring the south coast of Saona Island.

The tour includes a stop at Penon to learn about the island’s history and the Taino people, followed by a scenic boat ride through mangroves lined with Palétuvier trees. Upon arrival at Saona Island, visit the fishing village of Mano Juan to observe local life and browse small shops.

You will also visit a local turtle nursery, showcasing conservation efforts (note that newborn turtles may not be visible due to seasonal changes). For lunch, enjoy traditional Dominican cuisine at Saona Beach. Lobster is available during the season (July 1 to February 29) for an additional $25 per person.

The afternoon includes relaxing or snorkeling at Canto de la Playa, a quiet beach, and a stop at a shallow natural pool inhabited by large starfish (do not touch them). Guests can swim and enjoy refreshments before returning to Bayahibe port.

The excursion concludes with transportation back to La Romana Cruise Port, timed to ensure arrival well before your ship’s departure. If the cruise ship cannot dock due to weather or itinerary changes, a full refund is offered.
