Begin your adventure with a pickup from your campsite on Calle de la Piña, located on the outskirts of Jarabacoa. Head west toward the Cordillera Central, where the iconic Pico Duarte awaits. Get dropped off at the Manabao Marsh and embark on the first stage of your trekking route. This initial hike, approximately 4 kilometers long, will take you through a lush, green jungle landscape. Take a break halfway through the hike to recharge your batteries in the heart of nature, and then resume your trek. Conclude this first day of trekking at La Compartición, a mountain camp located at an altitude of 2,450 meters. On day 2, have breakfast at La Compartición campsite and begin the ascent to Pico Duarte. This hike is approximately 13 kilometers long, with several stops to recharge and admire the pine, ebony, and mahogany forests. The effort will definitely be worth it, as you climb to the top of Pico Duarte, which at 3,087 meters is the highest mountain in the Antilles. Upon reaching its peak, enjoy extraordinary panoramic views. From the summit of Pico Duarte, return to La Compartición camp for dinner and overnight.
