Description
Begin at Hotel Caño Hondo near Sabana de la Mar, then take a 10-minute drive to Caño Hondo pier. From there, enjoy a 2-hour boat ride through Los Haitises National Park, sailing among mangroves and San Lorenzo Bay. Visit Cayo de Los Pájaros and the old Pier La Perla as part of the journey.
The tour includes stops at La Arena Cave and La Línea Cave, featuring indigenous paintings and petroglyphs. After exploring the caves, return by boat to Caño Hondo pier.
Back at Hotel Caño Hondo, enjoy a Criollan lunch with dishes such as green salad, potato salad, minutas de pescado (fried fish fillets), chicharrón de pollo (fried chicken cracklings), pasta, white rice, string beans, moro de gandules con coco (rice with pigeon peas and coconut milk), and a sweet coconut dessert. Drinks include mineral water, a soft drink, or coffee with milk.
After lunch, relax on the hotel terrace and spend 4 hours enjoying the 14 natural pools with waterfalls at Caño Hondo.
