Discover the most authentic side of the Dominican Republic with a guided hike through the mountains of Paraíso, an ideal experience for those who want to combine nature, culture, and unique landscapes. After being picked up from your accommodation, you will travel to the village of Paraíso, where you will begin a hike of approximately 10 kilometers with an elevation gain of about 600 meters. The hike, which lasts between 2 and 3 hours depending on the pace of the group, follows mountain trails surrounded by lush tropical vegetation and offers spectacular panoramic views of the valley and the mountains of the Dominican southwest. During the tour, you'll learn about the flora of the region and, depending on the season, you'll be able to taste freshly harvested tropical fruits and try fresh cocoa straight from the tree while learning about the traditional crops of the area. The natural surroundings also offer the opportunity to observe birds and enjoy the tranquility of a virtually untouched landscape. At the end of the hike, you'll return to the village, where a local family will welcome you to share a typical lunch prepared with fresh ingredients from the region. It will be an excellent opportunity to get to know Dominican hospitality and the country's rural traditions up close.
