Description

Set off from Puerto Plata for a full-day journey uncovering the Damajagua Waterfalls and the nearby town of Imbert. Begin with a friendly hotel pickup, then travel in a safari-style truck to reach the cascading series of natural pools and chutes known locally as the “27 Charcos.” Under guidance from local experts, enjoy climbing, swimming, and gliding through natural spring-fed grottoes, sliding down rock slides, and exploring lush tunnels carved by water over centuries. Some waterfalls stand roughly 4 meters high, letting you jump, wade, or float in calm pools. Along the trail, your guide will share stories of the Taino people and the myths tied to certain falls like “La Virgen” and “La Tinajita.” After working up an appetite, a buffet lunch is served—with water and soft drinks to refresh you. The adventure also includes a stop in Imbert town, where you can shop local artisans’ crafts in a vibrant market.
