Description
Drive your own buggy or Polaris through the Dominican backcountry — and pick the vehicle that fits your group: double for two, or family for up to four in one car. This isn't a convoy to one photo stop; it's a half-day loop that connects the coast, the countryside and the underground. Your day starts with hotel pickup in an open-air safari truck, rolling past plantations and small Dominican communities on the way to the ranch. From there, you take the wheel. Follow rural tracks to Macao Beach — a wild, undeveloped Caribbean shoreline where the Atlantic hits the sand — then cut inland through villages and fields of coffee, cacao, banana and tobacco. You'll stop at a working plantation to taste freshly ground coffee, local cacao and the Dominican Republic's famous Mamajuana. The final stretch drops you at the Taíno Cave, a natural cenote once used by the island's Indigenous people. Trade the buggy for the water and swim inside the cave, where the light filters through the rock and the pool stays cool year-round. Life vests are provided. The safari truck picks you back up at the ranch and returns you to your hotel. Tour runs three times daily and lasts about 3 hours 30 minutes. Guiding in English and Spanish.Includes
