Description

Discover some of the most emblematic places in the east of the Dominican Republic on a day excursion from Punta Cana that combines history, nature, and tradition. After being picked up from your accommodation, you will travel to Altos de Chavón, a charming Mediterranean-inspired village built above the Chavón River. Stroll its cobbled streets, visit its art galleries and artisan workshops, see the famous amphitheater, and enjoy stunning views of the valley. The next stop will be Fantasy Cave, one of the most important natural and archaeological sites in the country. Walk its illuminated paths as you discover spectacular stalactites and stalagmites, as well as more than 500 pictographs and petroglyphs created by the Taínos, the first inhabitants of the island. Your tour guide will share the history and significance of this extraordinary cultural heritage. To round off the experience, you'll visit the Ron Barceló distillery, where you'll learn about the entire production process of one of the most prestigious rums in the Caribbean, from the cultivation of sugarcane to its aging in oak barrels.
