Morning Meet-Up & Departure (9:00 AM)
Meet at Perpetual Lab in Santo Domingo, where your bilingual coordinator will welcome you before we set off toward Yamasá. Enjoy the scenic drive through the countryside as you begin your cultural journey.
Arrival & Introduction to Taíno Culture
Upon arrival, meet the local family guardians who preserve the Taíno legacy. Learn about their connection to nature, African influence, mythology, and ancestral traditions that have been passed down through generations.
Myths, Gods & Ancestral Knowledge
Immerse yourself in stories about the Taíno gods, creation myths, and spiritual practices, gaining a deeper understanding of the island’s pre-colonial heritage and its ongoing influence in Dominican identity.
Traditional Dominican Lunch
Share a homemade Dominican lunch prepared by the host family, made with local ingredients.
Clay Workshop: Create Your Taíno Figure
Guided by your hosts, craft and paint your own clay figure inspired by Taíno art a symbolic keepsake representing your connection with this ancient culture.
Swim in the Sacred River
End the experience with a refreshing dip in one of Santo Domingo’s most important rivers, right where it is born. Feel the purity of the water and the spiritual energy of the land.
Return to Santo Domingo
After an inspiring day, we’ll head back to Santo Domingo, carrying with us the wisdom and warmth of the Taíno community.

Important Information
- Duration: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
Meeting Point: Perpetual Lab, Santo Domingo
This experience takes place mostly outdoors; wear comfortable clothes, shoes, and a hat.
You’ll be learning how to make and taste casabe, a traditional Taíno flatbread made from cassava.
You’ll be working with clay and paints, so wear clothes that can get dirty.
Bring a swimsuit, water shoes, towel, sunscreen, insect repellent, and a change of clothes for after the river swim.
Bring cash for personal purchases or tips.
The experience takes place at a private home surrounded by nature, please respect the sacred spaces and traditions shared by the community.
