Cayo Levantado

Cayo Levantado. In the Bay of Samaná, we find this little island off the southeast coast of the Samaná Peninsula. Its distinctive tropical look, with plenty of palm trees, white-sand beaches and turquoise water ideal for snorkeling are the reasons why it is so often visited. Though small, the island features the Gran Bahia Principe Hotel (which has two private beaches), a handicraft market, and various bars and souvenir businesses. It is a small paradise on Earth you'll surely love.

Tips

If you plan to visit this part of the Dominican Republic during the months of January through March, which is the period when humpback whales come to Samaná Bay, you can combine both tours.
